Laboratory of Sphingolipid Biology

Our research attempts to decode the intricacies of sphingolipid and ganglioside signaling in tumor progression using multidisciplinary approaches including lipidomics, transcriptomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.

We are interested in studying epigenetic, transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms regulating diverse signaling pathways during tumor development, and those targeting the tumor microenvironment in response to cancer chemotherapeutics. In collaboration with clinicians, we also work with patient samples with the objective to identify sphingolipid-based prognostic and diagnostic biomarkers that can have therapeutic potential as well.
